Only few insults and political comments have been edited... Don’t worry Tom.
Yes Claude, it would be better to indicate that, when a post is edited.

Congrats Claude for this impressive work ! Will be very useful for entomologists !
I had a quick look and have some few comments. In a scientific point of view, I would prefer a geographical segmentation than a political segmentation. For example, having all species of New Guinea island rather having some new Guinean species in PNG and some species in Indonesia (mixed with some species from very far islands). Food for thoughts.
I have checked only New Guinean Delias and see that many Delias species are missing. (maaikeae, laknekei, elusiva...). If you need a file with all Delias species and locality, I can send it to you.

vabrou < please respect our rules (no politics, no religion, no insults, no commercial announcement on the forum) or your post WILL be kindly edited/deleted by the moderation team. These rules are easy, they are the same for all, and we only have 2 or 3 members who have difficulties accepting them.
These rules have been put in place because Insectnet forum was a mess before. All serious entomologists will easily respect these rules. Without these rules, we would have to close the forum.

John, according to the admin log data, you have deleted one message from Chuck in the Bioquip topic. Maybe unintentionally as the "edit" and "delete" buttons are very close.

Steve Goodmiller, a great insect collector from Omak, WA, USA, has lost his battle against cancer. RIP Steve.
Our thoughts for his friends and family.

I heard only few specimens are known... a very elusive species. It must fly in non-open parts of FG.

I really thought there was a good chance OP was a bot. One forum I’m on has been mined for old, seldom used accounts, then the accounts are hacked and either bots or disinformation agents start posting. Either are usually first detected when they pose a question already answered in that same thread, and are very brief. As was the case here. The next ID is often when the question is rephrased and repeated. Most people have no idea they are communicating with AI. Chuck, you can easily check the previous posts of any members by clicking on his profile and check his last posts In the case of jellybean, you can see in two seconds that he is obviously not a bot but a fellow insect collector : insectnet.proboards.com/user/77/recent

jellybean < I guess trehopr1 comments were not for you, more for exoticimports. Of course, it is NOT OK to treat you as a "Chinese bot" or "USFWS Entrapment Division" for asking a question. And of course, members don't have to read 10 years of Insectnet topics to have right to ask a question. And I hope Chuck will give you some useful answers.

I appreciated many of the related experiences and I am glad it helped me to be more diplomatic in my dealings with some. As we mature, I hope that we do not run off the younger crowd and come across as being arrogant. This hobby like others (geology, aquarium keeping etc.), will slowly pass into the nether regions if we are not more welcoming (ie belittling) and choose our words carefully. I've been here a long time and am active in supporting our advertisers, forum and even other members here with money and time. I started a thread about how I was ill and it turned into a mess with vaccine talk blah blah blah. It had to be deleted. Was I upset about it? Nah. I just learned more about the rules and how to post here. Rant over. I love you guys for the work you do here! Thanks for these wise words !

Nice example : - some people complain because too much moderation - some people complain because not enough moderation.
Could we just respect the rules and stop whining please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS : Jan, indeed some of these terms should have been edited. Sorry, we are not perfect...

FYI, this is currently 40% off at Pemberley. It's still an expensive (but awesome) book. I knew about it when it first got published and did not end up buying it because of the cost. I'm surprised it's not out of print yet. It's much cheaper at Insectnet than at Pemberley : marketplace.insectnet.com/item/72230227/outstanding-birdwing-butterflies-full-book-50-discount300€ vs 341€ at Pemberley. About 100 copies sold on Insectnet in the last years. And yes Matsuka book is also excellent. All birdwing collectors should have both in my opinion.
