Peter. Superb pictures. I have just returned from a trip to the mountains in eastern Serbia. There were numerous fresh males of both A.iris and ilia flying or basking in the sun on gravel roads. No females seen. Both species were settled in numbers on drying dog/goat poo on rustic footpaths. Several dead specimens were found on the roadsides were they had been killed by cars after settling on the warm roads.
