found this auction while browsing ebay...I don't know if it's just me but apart from this species being Cites 1, the listing suggests a pair for sale, and condition A1+ there is only one photo of a specimen that is clearly not the condition described. The bidding is sure up there in the expensive department, but either if this is a true listing or not, im not quite sure of this... What do you think? www.ebay.com/itm/Papilio-homerus-pair-/201294465237?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2ede15c8d5Zac

This has been discussed on another forum, and the general consensus is that it is a scam. The picture can be found on Wikipedia, and when messaged, he said he got it in Haiti

I find it amusing how people just bid without questioning it first, personally I wouldn't bid so much money on a risk that it "might" pass inspection at customs. Then you have the obvious signs of a picture taken from the Internet as well as incorrect grading, and no glimpse or any proof of the females existence.. Also it's noteworthy that the start price was $400 usd for a pricey species you would think, and rarer still a female included. it's certainly a shot in the dark to bid on this. what are people thinking... surely novice collectors.

Doubtless the other bidders will receive those eBay 2nd chance offers for the same item, as he probably has 100 pairs to sell ... hmmmmm.
Deffo scam, do not send payment in advance. He will also find a way to delay things to get round the eBay/Paypal customer guarantees too.
Adam.

From Chuck Ianni decades ago too. I've bought from him before (one of our advertisers).
