Most people are nervous about TP because it’s a convenience item. They don’t think of the hygiene issue. www.foxnews.com/us/oregon-police-public-stop-calling-911-toilet-paperFact is, many have never used an alternative and wouldn’t know how. And in some areas (such as urban areas, unsurprisingly the same areas that are unprepared) they don’t have the tree leaves and other resources. Not would they know enough not to flush a wad of leaves down the toilet. This isn’t a swipe, it’s simply the way it is. Face it, the preppers are sitting fat and happy now. Meanwhile in NYC they’ve got to be scared to death to go search amongst the crowds for basic necessities. My wife thought I was nuts when I said one last trip to Walmart then no more markets for two weeks. But now suddenly I think she’s figuring it out. Local confirmed cases shot up 800% in two days.

It seems that virus is effecting human’s brain function in those who are not infected. Yes Paul, it seems you and Adam and me ( maybe some or most of people in this forum ) have a clear look at reality and a good self reflecting so that we can watch all the others like in a bad C movie. Here in Germany most shops, restaurants etc. are closed. super markets are still open. I have a good place at home for work and a package with new butterflies tomorrow.some city centres ( also in other european countries ) look like a wild west city before high noon....Take care of yourself, Joachim

well, i remember
Tu quoque, Brute, fili mi!” (You too, Brutus, my son!) as Caesar said while dying. the toquoquism is when people do or think what others do, like if you look at wikipedia and other papers, you will see that people just copy what they have read before. So, if you copy something and you will find somebody else did it like you, you can say"oh, tu quoque" What I saw all the time when people bought toilet paper, they tried to hide it or put in into the car when nobody is watching. embarrassing
Nowadays, the buy plenty of it and I think "Oh, tu quoque, you also have to use the toilet.... what a surprise" So the funny way to have a look at all the stuff.
ÄÄhhm
I was in a bank, two masked people came in, oh I was so lucky, bank robbers, no corona infected ones!!!!
Another joke: the corona virus is made in China, it is not a copy like all the things they copy from us.
So take care of all of you ,
Joachim

In light of the situation being much worse and the very high death rate and the compliant made, I deleted two posts under Important coronavirus information, as I agreed that it was making light of the very worrying situation, and I also deleted my rant on the other forum, as it seems unfair to point the finger. As a moderator I felt this was the right thing to do. We should not been seen to making fun of such a global catastrophe. Stay safe.

I live alone with two female cats. I am house bound, well stocked with the essentials, a dozen nice Ribeye Steaks, 48 cans of Pork and Beans, twelve cans of air freshener, 12 boxes of cereal, two gallons of milk, I have 14 jumbo size rolls of TP, 12 Rolls of paper towels and 48 cans of fancy feast cans of cat food, plus a 24 pound bag of dry cat food. And, about 30 pounds of cat litter.
For some reason, I loaded all my guns. I also have 12 gallons of water.
So, I am ready. At least I think I am ready.

Its good to remember even those that are vulnerable to the virus, cannot always self isolate. This tragedy has shown us there are two types of people in the world. Those that have been panic buying and hoarding (so the elderly and vulnerable cannot even get essentials) to self isolate even thought there is nothing wrong with them. Respect to all those brave people on the front line, those they are keeping the supermarkets open, the health care workers, the police and many others. The more people that take this catastrophe seriously the better we will be!!

I am not sure about other countries in the region, but the number of infections in Thailand has been creeping up in the past couple of weeks and most shops are closed until mid April in several cities including Chiang Mai. Supermarkets, groceries and petrol stations are open. Take away food is available but all restaurants cannot have customers eating in situ. My son is having online lessons arranged by his school as all schools were shut last week.

The Wuhan curse has hit hard. Arguably the cure is worse than the disease. Biggest economic recession looms.

Being house bound is not all that difficult. Found my grill, charcoal and starter fluid. Grilled a gorgeous Rib Eye Steak. 14 OZ+. Large baked potatoe with real butter. And a 16 oz can of Campbell's Pork & Beans.
Mmm mmm Good.....
Me and my kitties took a very nice nap.
Life is tough being retired.

A lot of researchers have been using a geometric progression model to predict the spread of covid-19, but it has proved to be difficult. Although some countries have gotten some control, many parts of the world are not fully open. I worry about when everything is thrown open, and the virus spreads with nothing to hold it back. Even the vaccine is taking time; I suppose it's nature telling humanity to slow down and catch their breath. At least we have the internet - from worrying about virtual viruses we now worry about some real ones!
