In a recent inquiry made in Catalonia less than the 30% of their population wantto be independent,I think the problem is that their politicians want more money to spend.

Last week in the north of Granada province,Spain,the Genus Argynnis was very common(pandora,aglaja,adippe,aglaja and niobe),mixed with the very common Melanargia lachesis,Kanetisa circe,Hyponephele sp.,Hipparchia semele and Hipparchia alcyone,Lysandra nivescens and various Polyommatinae.

A fresh Z.rumina collected yesterday,C.pamphilus very common,Maniola jurtina and Pyronia bathseba are beginning to fly now,and a few Aporia crataegi mixed with Pontia daplidice in the south-east of Spain.

For me is a surprise because I always thought that Graellsia isabelae begin their flight periode in the end of April but friday my father saw one male flying in a small town in Sierra de Segura(Jaen,Spain)

C.argiolus wins here the race with P.napi and A.cardamines,cause is flying from the begginig of February, but the first butterfly of the year is always Pararge aegeria.

Callophrys rubi and Callophrys avis flying now with Pseudophilotes panoptes and Celastrina argiolus,I´m waiting for Tomares ballus and Zerynthia rumina.

P.apollo ssp Hispanicus in Teruel mountains with P.apollo Germainae(Sierra de Gúdar and part of western mountains of Castellon).In Sierra de Javalambre flies P.apollo ssp. Nichollae that now is the same ssp of Germainae.In Huesca also flies the subsp.Aragonicus and P.apollo novarae form(black dots).P.apollo also flies in the Cordillera cantabrica and the surrounding mountains of Madrid(ssp.escalerae).

Today I have seen the first Nymphalis polychloros of the year here near the Mediterranean sea in the east of Spain, with various Lycaenidae and 1 Pararge aegeria.

Aricia cramera is smaller than Aricia artaxerxes and the orange spots of the obverse in A.cramera arrive up to the end of wings.
