Without reading the paper, it is hard to judge what is said ! Are we sure it is a fake description to make money, or this is what You think ? Let's hope it was not Thanos I can not vote without the element about this case ! You mention that paratypes can't be located, but what about the holotype which should be deposited in an institution to be valid ? These books sells for an average 60/80 euros per volumes if in very good conditions with their dustjackets ! Remember these are second hands ...

To me it looks like Eupatorus rather than Europatus, but I am not an expert on beetles !
