I was on the collecting trip together with Mr. Fickler when we collected Parnassius labeyriei on Dongda La and Anju La(the female offered from Ebay seller ilo44,collected by Mr.Fickler),so there is no doubt about the geographical data. The ones described in 1998 as ssp.weii from Dongda la are smaller as ssp.naocoae described one year earlier. In The Parnassiinae of the World Part 5 ssp.weii is a synonym of ssp.naocoae,so following this book that was published after Kocmans book, ilo44 is offering them correct as ssp.naocoae. I personaly feel that ssp.weii Looks also Little different and not only smaller size is the difference. Robert

there is no clear answer to your question: Blandin does not recognise ssp.pacifica/pacificus , others do accept this ssp. I personally also feel M.theseus from Esmeraldas to differ from ssp.aquarius and luckily got today a female Robert

I have seen a female laying eggs on Avocado in Oaxaca Close to the Papilio esperanza typ locality. I was surprised as a swiss (moth) breeder told me he found the larvae in Mexico in a garden on Cherimoya trees(Annona sp.).... I have a small Cherimoya and will try my lucky once I can obtain again pupae from El Salvador. Robert
