In Cuba I have seen once thousands and thousands of Protographium celadon(but all already damaged) and in a forest I found them in the shade on the next early morning sleeping in groups of 20-50 piece......... Robert

in the Valais(Switzerland) I have seen on Simplon pass(Sempione) once 2 P. apollo flying even between 2000-2200m,first I thought they are Parnassius sacerdos ,but for sure they dont live up there ,there are populations on both sides of the pass at much lower altitude(one population is at 1500m) Robert

Very difficult for me to believe that the males are from Jamaica, they look more like Anaea aidea(that one doesnt live on Jamaica) I collected the endemic Anaea portia from Jamaica in all generations and found them never with that short tails like your upper male. There are differences more in the wet/dry season forms in having the black patterns more or less heavy and my bottom male shows a very rar brownish form Robert Attachments:

Hi Thanos I found this form about 15 years ago on each visit in northern Greece near Kozani(flying with Allancastria cersiyi huberi) I used to breed them and about 40% became this form Robert

when I was on my expedition in Yunnan in the Salween Valley(Nu Jiang Valley) near the border to Burma northwords the road to Tibet I found this Polyura and was happy to find Polyura posidonius quiete common............when I mounted them at home they turned all up to be males of Polyura narcaea menedemus (or ssp.thibetanus?) in the field it was not possible for me to see the difference between these 2 species and there was also a much larger Polyura species around, must mount one to take once a picture Robert Attachments:
