I can say for certain that at least coleoptera-le was a reliable dealer some of the time. I ordered a Macrodontia crenata from him and it arrived all right. It may be possible he didn't have permits and got in trouble, because he packaged the beetle in a birthday card, not quite the legal way to send an insect.

really I don`t understand this..... you know send insects From my country need permit your add new items just two weeks ego or any more days ego so I need to process new permit adding this new items I explain it to you and you just put this report like I am scamer..really ..........
and why you add to other person in this...... you do business with carlos saavedra not with another person I will always answer you like me not like other person...really I am very ungry for this situation

I have had several good transactions with Carlos. The last box that I received was very good. I have tried for several months to order more insects from Carlos but he has not responded for some reason. Carlos I hope that you are taking good care of these buyers who have concerns. I believe that you could make a good business in the insect trade provided you treat all buyers honestly. I hope that you will send my most recent order soon. Mike F

I share your doubts about some of these Peruvian Ebay sellers.
About yacareinsects though, you may be right that his first feedback was a "fake", I don't know, but since then he has received 69 positive feedbacks from various buyers (there must be some members of this forum) and only one negative feedback, so I highly doubt yacareinsect is a scammer.
His only negative comment is about a 11 USD bug... and he has sold many expensive items with high prices and received only positive comments about them. Doesn't seem a scammer to me at all.

yacareinsects is Hernan Lequerica and there's no doubt that he is a good, reliable dealer; many people have had good experiences with him.
I have also dealt with Cesar Lequerica (no relation as far as I know and he also uses the name Erick) a few times and he has supplied good material. I've had to chase him up occasionally but he has always come through eventually.
I don't know Carlos Saavedra.

I never got my specimens.
EBay/PayPal refused to refund as I waited too long to make a claim. How was I to know? As the seller had positive feedback and Irena delays meant lengthy postage. EBay facilitated this theft and now refuse to take responsibility. Shame on you eBay...

I can only say positive things regarding carlos/erick. Over many occasions i have received parcels from them without any money up front. Not common species either. When i got sent the list with the beetles, sizes and prices, i agreed to take all their stock. They informed me that the paper work would take some time, but as i was not paying in advance, i could wait. After a few weeks and no more conversations with carlos/erick, i gave up hope, but then they contacted me to inform me that all the paper work was in order. Sure enough, a few more weeks later the parcel arrived with all the stock stated.

He claims to have had his eBay and PayPal accounts suspended for no reason...rather suspicious I think. Asked him if he got my money-no answer.
But he did tell me that he will send owed specimens, I'll believe that when I see it and report back.
The whole thing stinks...

Carlos seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. I talked to another buyer a couple of weeks ago who informed me that Carlos is on the Western Union "suspected scammer" list, so he has been flagged there which is not a good sign. It seems like there is a legitimate business opportunity out there for an honest, reliable, supplier in Peru. The good suppliers always do better and last longer. I really hope Carlos makes good with all of the bugs he owes people at this point.

the only person who tell me somenting like I am suspected scammer on wester union was Rich skalski please ask him well about the history of the butterfly he finally have in this hands by Raul ramirez.
I am suspected scammer on wester union is not truth I always picked money for my work in entomology collecting trips and never have any problem in to pick money by wester union.
