Could be correct - a dipteran of some sort. Bottom line is this, you have a bacterial film in the water bowl that the larvae are feeding on. Wash and disinfect it - and they will go away. j

I have a similar water filter thing for my cats and found a bunch of those gross worms...I don't use that anymore..it really grossed me out...they were in the filter and everything

I did a lot of research and I agree its most likely a drain fly Sucks cause I just bought that pet water fountain and I don't want to even use it anymore!!

I did a lot of research and I agree its most likely a drain fly Sucks cause I just bought that pet water fountain and I don't want to even use it anymore!! The drain fly larvae live on the "biofilms" that form inside the fountains. They do sound rather troublesome to keep clean.
