I have not thought about Ichneumon Wasps and Bait Traps until now.
In 2000 I moved from Lakeworth, Florida to Georgetown, Kentucky. I used Flat Bottom Type Bait Traps exclusively prior to the move to Kentucky. I designed the Slotted Pan Type Bait Trap in 2000. The Slotted Pan Type Bait Trap was easier to use and maintain and had an extremely high retention rate. Ironically, the hole in the Flat Bottom Ring was a 1/32" an inch larger (.03125) than the Slotted Pan Bait Trap. But the Slotted Pan was loose, it would not fall through\out.
I do not think that an ichneumon wasp can negotiate the slot in the pan.
I climbed into the top of my garage and found a box of four (4) Flat Bottom Bait Traps. I must stop at CostCo and pick up some 12" inch aluminium Cake Pans and wait for next spring.
Could prove to be an interesting summer in 2021.
I have always had an interest in Ichneumondae, Diptera and Hymenoptera (Wasps, Flies, Hornets & Bee"s.)

I found a Schmidt Box with a bunch of ichneumonidae wasp. There are 16 specimens of 4 species (??). They are all from Mississippi.
I should look through my temporay storage boxes more often.
I am off to check my Bait Traps. But first some Breakfeast at a Waffle House.
