here is an interesting butterfly from Vietnam. I also have a female in bad quality.
I wonder whether Adam or Paul are the first t o answer......

It is Calinaga buddha, but it looks slightly different to the one in Thailand. Presumably this was collected in February or March, since I think this species is univoltine in 'spring'. Which part of Vietnam is it from? Adam. PS. I just checked the site, first time in about 12 hours, so your timing was good

Yes, Adam beat me, I was busy with BBQ. It is Spring species and Iām surprised that it was collected in June. Perhaps maybe in N.Vietnam it occurs later.

I got the data inside a lot, so maybe it was collected some time earlier. All my specimens from North Thailand were collected between 15-30 February, although I seem to remember to see them also near Myanmar border some time in March.

Paul, I hope you didn't catch anything on 30 February I suspect that the Vietnamese dates are incorrect, possibly the month the dealer received them from the catchers. However, it does seem that north Vietnamese butterflies may emerge later than in Thailand, but certainly not as late as the data implies. I collected this species in early March in Lak Sao, E Laos, so I would expect that in Vietnam they should emerge no later than the end of the month. Adam.

ššš you caught me Adam, Yes, actually my labels say 15-25 February and what I wanted to point that all my specimens were collected in last two weeks of February.
