Recently I arrived at my parents' house and found a book that I adored in all my childhood. I almost cried.

Familiar feelings! Some things bring us back to childhood. Now I am re-reading Jonathan Stroud trilogy about the demon and the young wizard. How much sense and goodness in it!

Are you talking about the story about Nathaniel and Bartiumeus? I just read this series, I recently started the third book. It's sad, that soon this story will be left behind, acquaintance with this world was very pleasant, a book for children with a very adult message and meaning.

I'll look into those books. I have not heard of them. I still adore my green leather bound book with gold Elven lettering of "The Hobbit."

I remember reading the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings when I was in High School. However, I thought the movies were a joke, especially the Hobbit.
In 1961 I traveled to New York City with my Grand Mother to visit some her family (To this day I cannot remember who they were or how we were related). I had or was reading the Lord of the Rings when my Grandmother found an article in the newspaper that J.R.R. Tolkien was in New York at the "Middle Earth Cafe" signing books.
We took a cab from our Hotel. The place was packed. Saw J.R.R. Tolkien from a distance. That was my one and only (Close) encounter with Tolkien.

The Hobbit Mmm. I adore Tolkien, how much it costs to love your books in order to work the whole world so much! I still remember them!
