You should join the washington Ent Soc. It has a stong professional core, but even the curators at the Smithsonian are just collectors at heart. I think you will find plenty of interested collectors at the meetings. If I lived in the DC area - I'd be at every one of these meetings.. entsocwash.org/default.asp?Action=Show_SocietyInfo&ID=MeetingsJohn Attachments:

John, I just saw your photo and caption. Although this is not the thread to ask, how did you like Belize ? I am considering Belize or Costa Rica for a vacation/collecting trip this next year. Are collecting/export problems needed or a problem in Belize ? Ever collect in Costa Rica ? Michael

Are collecting/export problems needed or a problem in Belize ? Ever collect in Costa Rica ? Michael I love Belize - I've collected there since 1988 - a covering 17 trips. Becuase of my job, I alway get a permit - which is not for the faint of heart. However, the only times anyone has ever asked to see it is in national parks and other conservation areas. The difficulty you will run into in when comming back into the us. The key is to go in the rainy season, which corresponds to our summer. Most people go in the winter, and come away disappointed. Email me at jshuey @ tnc.org and I've give you more info. Never been to Costa Rica.
