Jacques Hecq, great specialist of African Limenitidinae (Euphaedra, Bebearia, Euryphura, Euriphene, ....) and Pieridae also known as editor of Lambillionea left us last Friday, October 26. This is a huge loss for the Belgian and African entomology. Our thoughts are with the family. Lambillionea team.

Always sad to hear such news. It's been a bad year for Lepidoptera publishing with Thomas Frankenbach and now Jacques Hecq saying goodbye.
Adam.

Great loss for entomology ! I met him several times and it was always a pleasure to talk to him. A very generous Man ... At my first visit to his house for a pleasant dinner, he invited for me Lucien Berger formerly Director of the MRAC of Tervuren. The next day he introduced me to Maurice Fontaine who left us some years ago ... Great souvenirs to me ! A+, Michel

Sad news ideed. I have had the honour and the pleausre of meeting Mr. Hecq several times. A very nice man and a very serious entomologist. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A sad news for the whole Lepidopterology.
I have made his Lepidopterological bibliography for my own use (not a so easy task), If someone need it, tell me.
