Can anyone tell me what this insect is please? It was happily settled on my kitchen wall in Wiltshire, UK. Its wingspan is slightly more than an inch.  |

Many thanks Adam. From the link it looks a lot like Stenoptilia bipunctidactyla, which apparently feeds on scabious plants. I'll ask the lady of the house if we have any in the garden.
