Bill Houtz died from a massive heart attack on June 11th at the age of 65. He reared eastern USA swallowtails and was an excellent supplier of A1 specimens. I sent an email to check on availability of specimens and his wife informed that Bill had died. I Know he read the forums and classified ads here and I think his nickname was laverne66

Terrible news, Bill and I had traded dozens of times and he had a stunning collection, we had many wonderful moth discussions and he will be missed. Does anyone know if he had arrangements for his collection to be donated? I hope it finds its way to a museum...

I am in contact with his son, Greg Houtz. Bill's wife referred me to him when I inquired about purchasing some butterflies. Message me if you want his email address.

Just completed a transaction with Bill probably 2 weeks before his passing! Found out from Bill Oehlke's site. I too would be interested in papered specimens more so than his personal collection! obe

RIP Bill.
Always sad when a member of the entomology community passes away...hopefully the future generations will replace us when we go!
