Unfortunatly not Simon, you would just see industrial estates with a tree or 2 dotted about the place.

"did you see Ypthima asterope on Symi or Hipparchia christenseni on Karpathos ?"
It was a long time ago ! As far I remember, I saw Y. asterope in Symi. And I have some (I have to check), not spread (still papered), given by Athanasios K.
About the L. populi female and AK, I know nothing ! Few weeks ago, AK was colecting somewhere in South America (I forgt the country !) and his daughter was collecting in Madagascar (I helped her organizing his journey sending some informations about places and guys to meet there).

Oh, great for him to collect again at such tropical paradises..! When he had gone to Ecuador some years ago, he brought great stuff from there, -I had seen his collection then.

It's probably not as bad as I've made it sound - it's not exactly the "concrete jungle" where I am...but it really does make me appreciate days out in the countryside even more Simon

Yes if AK is collecting somewhere, you can be sure he will bring back a lot of specimens. He's really an impressive hunter ! He's the only guy crazy enough to net a Sphingidae inside the airport of Timika (a troubled locality of W. Papua) in front of 10 soldiers of the Indonesian army... :-)

Lol, I can imagine.. . However, I have to admit that I've done not a few crazy things in my life, too, ..especially for insects.. ! Thanos
