Great idea to show ONLY native butterflies. Of course, the californian fauna is very beautiful with a great diversity. In Europe, live butterflies vivarium present only tropical butterflies, always the same species, all together (african, asiatic, neotropical). As far I know, a single exception : the Digne Butterfly Garden in South-East of France where flies (in liberty) only native species. See : www.proserpine.org/jardin.phpSome time ago I gave a small conference (with photos) to the inhabitants of a small village in Normandy about the butterflies flying around: people were surprised to discover that species, however, fly 100 meters from their door. They have to learn about the "butterfly next door" ! Show butterflies of California in California is really a great initiative! Congratulations for the pictures of butterflies (and moths) made in 2011!
