After discovering that I cannot legally import R. ferrugineus into the US I began searching for alternatives. From what I hear R. cruentatus and R. palmarum are also quite tasty so I'm attempting to find a source for one or both of these species so I can raise them for culinary purposes.
Anyone know where I could purchase them inside of the US? I've come up empty handed after some heavy google searching.
I know that R. cruentatus is native to FL s that's probably my best bet out of two two.

I would imagine that it would be pretty costly to raise R. cruentatus as they only (or at least prefer to) feed on damaged palm trees, and apparently always kill the tree they feed on. That said, I'm sure that there are plenty of nurseries in Florida that would be more than happy to part with the insects.
