Did you achieve to put the "Search Engine" back ?
It was very useful to browse a locality like "Papua" or "Solomons". It was not possible anymore with the new website.

did you bring back the Hesperiidae? I haven't looked at your site since you pulled that family of butterflies.

Hi shuey.
The reason why I removed the Hesperiidae family was because of its huge number of species and that its rarely offered on eBay. As Wikipedia quoted: "There are more than 3500 recognized species of skippers and they occur worldwide." Since Insect-Collection.com is keyword based, I'd have to create many categories to cover them and most of them would be empty. If you want, send me (InsectCollection@hotmail.com) a list of commonly collected genus (say 25-50) and I might do something in the near future.
To Oliver. Sorry. I have not forgotten about your request. But with my real work, a young family of 3 kids (and the need for sleep); time has become a valuable commodity. I apologize for any inconvenience.

why don't you do do researches on family names only ?
- you "keywords" (i.e. by tribes or some other kind)) are sometimes difficult to follow, usually, collectors made search by families or genus or species (the three main categories known by everyone) - when I browse ebay auction, i like to see many as possible to detect "good opportunity" that are in many cases wrongly classified (except families .... with few exception) ....
ps : it is good that you included other ebay sites than ebay.com

ps : not that good for us!!! ebay.fr and ebay.de were often overlooked by US bidders... it was great to obtain good items at low prices ! ;-)

why don't you do do researches on family names only ? My first version of my website was family based. However, not all sellers were following this naming convention and I was not able to pull in all the auctions. (Funny thing is that I started the trend to include the family name in front of the description title.) As a result, I decided to filter them by genus. Insect-Collection.com

"As a result, I decided to filter them by genus."

"As a result, I decided to filter them by genus." yes, that i understand ... but why not to reassembly them into family containers ? But they are...(?) They're broken down to family. Then subfamily. And if the family is too large with no known subfamily, I made family Group A, Family Group B, etc...In any case, I have included the genus that are included within each group as well.

And by the way, any eBay sellers with a Facebook account, you can join the group called "eBay Insect Classified." Over 1300+ people are part of the group. You can advertise your auctions there.

it is my purpose that groups between genus and family are not clear (and not so universal) and i am somtimes loss when I am looking for something
