If I hide e-mails in the Classifieds you will have to use an e-mail form to contact the poster, as on a dating site. You will not know the person's e-mail unless they reply back.
Advantages of hiding the posters' e-mail: Privacy. No one can hassle you or harvest your e-mail for spamming.
Disadvantages: 1) You cannot search a seller's e-mail for trade references unless they reply back, 2) communication is a bit more cumbersome at first, and 3) sellers may be tempted to propose illegal activity since they cannot be traced by simply viewing their ad.
What say you?

I vote "no". I think it will be boring and make trade more difficult.
Spammers are not that many and we just need to put those 3 or 4 guys in our bulk mail.

I vote no too, they are fine as they are despite the odd handful of these idiots.

I think that seeing an advertiser's e-mail address is important in helping me decide whether I actually WANT to contact him, and thus let him have my e-mail address. If Clark hides the address it might actually cause more problems than it solves.
Adam.

I repost my opinion here:
@ Clark, thank you for looking this up. The suggestion to hide the emails completely may unfortunately, as I see now, result in more problems than advantages. All I can ask for is a polite behaviour towards your fellow collectors which seems for some people not self-evident.
