Radovan, the label says B S Rogers of Freshwater which is on the Isle of Wight off the coast of Hampshire but that is not where the butterfly is from I can guarentee you, all specimens of dispar dispar come from the fens of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonsire as far as I am aware, it has been extinct in Britain for around 160 years, a lot of specimens were taken from holme fen and yaxley fen as well as Cambridgeshire.

Hey Radovan, I thought we discussed this earlier? 1880 to 1900 is too late for dispar, they became extinct in 1848. As Dunc rightly says they are only from the Fens but a lot came from Whittlesea Mere as well as those locations Dunc mentions. This is NOT a genuine English L. dispar dispar.

I would add that the pin does not look right and I noticed the bottom has been cut off the label, you can just make out the top of some further writing. Very suspicious!
