Black Hills National Forest, South Dakota June 27-31 First column: Papilio zelicaon, unidentified day-flying moth Second column: Papilio canadensis, unidentified skipper Third column: Papilio eurymedon, Colias christina Fourth column: Polygonia sp., Nymphalis milberti, Everes amyntula, Phyciodes batesii, Celastrina neglecta, unidentified beetles (Carabidae, Buprestidae, Cicindellidae) I ventured out to Spearfish Canyon for the first time to collect and will definitely return to collect in the future. For the first time in South Dakota I spotted Papilio zelicaon and Papilio eurymedon. They were flying all over the place on the road to Roughlock Falls. No other new species for the area, but I did also go to Mount Roosevelt outside of Deadwood for the first time. It was very windy and overcast, but I will return there as well. Brant Attachments:
