I just came back from a few days in northern Wisconsin. The weather was good on just one day, and that one day was great for collecting all kinds of insects. My kids and I collected several odonata species. And some very nice leps. Several Papilio canadensis, Limenitis arthemis arthemis. And we hit the jackpot at night with our MV light. 3 Actias luna 1 Hyalophora columbia 2 Sphinx canadensis 2 Dryocampa rubicunda 1 Ceratomia undulosa 2 Smerinthus cerisyi 1 Amorpha juglandis 2 Paonias myops 2 Pachysphinx modesta Plus several other species of smaller moths. Then to top it off, upon returning home we found that 2 of our Callosamia promethea coccoons had hatched & they were mating. That is the attached picture. Attachments:

Even in the rain, you could have had sugar traps hanging from branches and could have gotten even more. Just wanted to let you know. Or you could have placed some pitfall traps in the ground baited with hamburger, etc. and collected some beetles. Just wanted to let you know that the rainy days could be a positive, too. Jeff Prill
