I'm a Brit Member living half of my year nr. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I spend the northern winter months. I spend most of my time there leading Birdwatching groups but I've always been a very keen Neotropical butterflies & insects fan (I've reared most S. American butterfly genera from egg or wild found larvae. I'm very keen on expanding my guiding services to include Insect photography and study groups and in preparation for this, Over the next couple of seasons,I will be conducting a survey of the Butterflies and more interesting insects to be found locally. before I begin to offer these trips commercially in the future. The "hot time" for seasonal species here appears to fall from late December into early February, and I've managed to put aside this time to concentrate on researching insects this year. I would be pleased to receive offers of "help" with some of the initial fieldwork from Insect-net members. You would need to be physically fit and also be able to fund your own air travel to Rio de Janeiro International Airport, plus pay a nominal daily fee to fund accommodation & local transportation in Brazil. For more details please go to www.birdingbrazil.com or contact me directly at rrabybrasil@yahoo.com PS. One of our tasks will be to try and locate an Agrias claudina colony or at least find it's hostplant, pls. refer to my previous posts on this forum.
