What is this insect? (South East BC, Canada)

Trying to ID this insect for my mother - she lives in South East British Columbia - anyone know what it is? My best guess would be Okanagana occidentalis, but I am no expert.

I'm no expert either, but the pictures on bugguide.net, the range map, & the dates seem to match up pretty well.
