These two species are from Kai (Kei) island in the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. One looks like crameri but anyone know the species or subspecies.

Hi Mardenda the specimens on the RHS look to be danaidae euploea core corinna, more common in Northern Australia Regards Colon

Yes, I think the ones on the right are Euploea core but there are so many subspecies of that one in the Indonesia area I thought someone might know the the subspecies of Kai (Kei) island. I think the forewing spots are much larger and oblonged on mine than corrina. I think the others are Euploea crameri but would like to know the subspecies.

The right specimen with the big white patch on their fore wing are most likely Euploea algea sacerdos Butler, 1883. They match the images I have from Tsukada (Butterflies of SEA Islands Vol. 2). The type locality is Larat. There is another ssp. guerini C. & R. Felder, [1865] from Aru (equal distance) for which I have not seen any images.
The closer you get to Australia the more algea starts to look like corinna. They are very variable.

The photo is too small to clearly see the androconial brands on the male forewings. I checked my copy of Ackery & Vane-Wright (1984), Milkweed Butterflies, and these are important to confirm the species.
Adam.
