I've done macro video (and photography) off an on over the last decade. However, financially I'm not too well off, and the prized video cameras I used maybe a decade ago -Panasonic HDC-TM700 and Sanyo VPC-FH1- were sold long ago. There was a big cost difference between these two videocams, but the Sanyo had surprisingly good video quality so much so that I almost regretted selling it and buying the TM700.
Well, I'm sort of back into video macro, but budget is very limited $<100. I still the the Sanyo on the used market for around $70+ but it's an old videocam now. I've been trying out a used Sony HDR-CX240/L, and the video quality is ok, but need enough light and even the "steadyshot" doesn't seem to help all that much.
So, what are folks using? Something offering full HD (1080p) and within my budget. And has good macro capability. The Sony does seem to have a very good macro lens. I can zoom in on a house fly for example and nearly fill the screen without loss of quality. Used market contenders also welcome.
Thank you!
