We only have one feeder and it is very popular in winter. Not much variety but good quantity of sparrows, various finches and of course starlings. We have doves and jays during the summer. Our ngighbour feeds humming birds and we will start that also. A easy and rewarding hobby.

The first insect I ever purchased was a Atlas moth from the now extinct Butterfly World in Far Rockaway New York. That is a nice frame and blends well with their colors.

FOR ME FABRE, I LOVE HIS BOOKS AND HIS ABILITY TO TAKE YOU INTO A SPECIAL WORLD. HE HAD A VERY HARD LIFE BUT PERSEVERED USING THE MOST SIMPLE EQUIPMENT AND RELYING ON EXPERIMENTS HE DEVISED HIMSELF. A REMARKABLE MAN.

Many years back I purchased a bioquip board number one o two two W for extra large specimens. I added two balsa wood strips tacked on to each side which gives me a maximum width of eleven and three quarters inches. My largest specimen is a giant atlas moth over nine inches and many large lepidoptera. If I remember I paid about forty dollars for the board but this was some time ago. There is a video on site showing Connie Hurt spreading specimens and you can see the extension in action.
