I mailed away, at MY OWN EXPENSE ($105.63 CAD = $77.45 USD), your return package, with the 2 defective collecting light units,this morning 29th June 2020 at 9:34:20 AM. The package was shipped expedited Xpresspost-USA,4 business days Guaranteed Service, with full insurance coverage, TRACKING NUMBER: EM045675745CA, signature required, with expected delivery date 07 July 2020.
Again to be absolutely clear I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER COLLECTING LIGHT UNIT (if it takes 3 times to get it right....NO WAY!). I WANT A FULL REFUND OF MY MONEY sent to my Paypal account ASAP. PAYPAL IS THE ONLY METHOD I WILL ACCEPT FOR REPAYMENT....No SNAIL MAIL CHEQUES, MONEY ORDERS, BANK DRAFTS ETC.. The total amount you owe me is as follows: 06 March 2020 original Paypal payment made to you of $237.50 USD ($159.00 for one 120v, 40W, 24" Quantum collecting light unit + $36.00 USD for one spare tube to fit said light + $42.50 USD Express shipping = $237.50 USD). I had shortly after placing this order contacted you again to throw in another extra spare tube which I said I would again pay for with Paypal when I received the entire order; Therefore the total now left owing to you currently would have been $36.00 USD. However, I was also, just recently charged an additional extra expense by Customs of $33.13 USD = $45.29 CAD to open & inspect the 2nd shipment I received on 23 June 2020... this charge was totally unnecessary (your fault as package was undamaged, not opened by Customs & unit didn't work right out of the box; the 2nd shipment was opened by Customs so they may have caused some damage to the rattling ballast)... if you would have sent me a working unit in your 1st shipment which I received 06 June, 2020 there would have been no need to make a 2nd shipment. The cost of the 2nd extra tube which I had not yet paid for mentioned above was $36.00 USD; My extra unnecessary Customs charge was $33.13 USD. These 2 figures come pretty close to cancelling each other out so am leaving them out of the calculations. The only thing I have now in my possession on this day of 29 June 2020 are the 2 spare tubes which I still want as I have an older identical model collecting light purchased from you 4 years ago which uses the same tubes. My other additional expense is, of course, the $77.45 USD = $105.63 CAD paid today at my P.O. to send back the 2 defective collecting units.
Finally, you owe me the same original amount I paid to you WAY BACK 4 MONTHS AGO: $237.50 USD + the $77.45 USD to resend the 2 faulty units back to you today. GRAND TOTAL YOU OWE ME IS: $237.50 USD + $77.45 USD = $314.95 USD (or $430.81 CAD according to xe.com right now). Please Leroy pay me the $314.95 USD ASAP or, at the latest, by the expected delivery date of your 2 defective units - 07 July 2020. The sooner you pay me the sooner this whole disgusting mess can be deleted & we may both still be able to walk away from this giant misunderstanding with a little dignity.

To Make doubly sure LEROY understands... I am simply tired of fighting; I will mail the return package at my own expense of $105.63 CAD ($77.45 USD). Funny/odd that Leroy has the money to hire a lawyer, but can't cough up the lousy $77.45 USD to have a package containing his own 2 defective units returned!? LEROY - disregard the "Return to sender for replcement written on the exterior of each of your individual packages" (being shipped together inside a different, larger, more secure box). IT SHOULD NOW READ "RETURN TO SENDER FOR REFUND". I definitely do not want another unit sent to me... I will only accept a cash refund by Paypal.
I will post the tracking number of the return package right here tomorrow mourning. I am not commenting any more here unless I still don't see any cash deposited in my Paypal account in 2 weeks time. We, myself included, all need a break from this fiasco. ONLY after I receive my money in my Paypal account will this dreadful situation come to a close & can/should this thread be deleted

To all Concerned... I agree 100% with complete deletion of this entire fiasco... only after I get a refund for return shipping & original order. Since L.K. refuses to budge on these basic issues I am going to bite the bullet myself; tomorrow morning I am going to pay the $77.45 USD ($105.63 CAD) myself to ship the 2 defective units back. They are already repackaged & have been waiting in my local P.O. to be reshipped since the middle of last week. L. K...Disregard the "RETURN TO SENDER FOR REPLACEMENT WRITTEN IN BOLD LETTERS ON THE OUTSIDE OF EACH INDIVIDUAL PACKAGE". It should now "RETURN TO SENDER FOR REFUND". I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT a 3rd UNIT SENT TO ME... I am completely done with you LEROY & only want a cash refund. The tracking number will be posted here...stay tuned.
What happens after that is entirely up to LEROY C. KOEHN....I (we all) will be watching/waiting with bated breath. Funny L.K. has the money to see a lawyer, but can't, at the minimum, cough up a lousy $77.45 USD to ship his TWO defective units back to him.
Aside from posting the tracking number of the return package here tomorrow I won't be posting any other comments for the next approximate 2 weeks it will take (due to Covid19 & mail delivery slowdowns) for my return package to reach L.K.. WE all need a break, myself included, from this Bullcrap!

There were only 2 defective units sent 18 May & 8 June...I swear on my recently departed wife's grave that these are the only ones I have EVER received. If you have actual tracking numbers for all supposed/imagined 3 units???... PROVE IT.... by posting them here for all to see & verify. Valid Tracking numbers are THE ONLY WAY any buyer has to be certain the claimed items were actually shipped. How many times must I ask you for verifiable tracking numbers?? What can't you understand? That has been my main request all through this tiresome ordeal. I honestly think your mind is seriously slipping Leroy.
I'm sticking with Chuck's simple return solution... reread it... so simple...your way is unnecessarily complicated,time consuming & frankly ridiculous. I don't think by this point in the game Leroy that you can really dictate anything to anybody. LEROY lit a short fuse on a big bomb that blew up in his face & now he is desperately trying to run & hide without resolution to this simple, but ridiculous problem. Leroy..... This is certainly a pleasant surprise & an interesting proposition... the arrangement you proposed would be just fine with me... as it has been 3 hours now since I last posted & I just checked my Paypal acct.... not surprisingly... nothing deposited. L.K. was online on this forum when I posted my last response & he knew & would have read my posting. He is certainly not someone in a big hurry (as I am) to put this mess to rest.
One nagging question Chuck... why in the world would you want to get involved in this God awful mess? This is an extraordinary situation & I would be very happy for the added backup if things should go south again. My trust level of L.K. right now, on a scale of 1-10 is at about -5. The idea of a 3rd neutral party though is a very good one & if you are serious I am all for it... It would certainly keep L.K. honest for once.
Again you don't have to do this Chuck, but it would be much appreciated.
Have to go... will check in later tonight & will keep you posted... I'm a bit excited, for another reason, as at this moment... I suddenly, after a long delay with cold weather, have 9 beautiful, freshly emerged, Hyalophora columbia gloveri moths inside a screened cage in my porch! Anyways... no more wasting my time & energy... since it has been determined by various other neutral member's posts on this thread that the SELLER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL RETURN SHIPPING CHARGES of defective items you owe me $105.63 CAD or $77.45 USD (according to xe.com) to pay for the return shipping charges as outlined to you in a past private email. And... LEROY... just in case you decide to balk, yet again, here are some friendly facts regarding these shipping charges. You originally spent $100.40 USD to ship these 2 defective light units up to me... THEREFORE to summarize & make it absolutely, perfectly clear, you spent $100.40 USD to ship these 2 defective units up to me & I (actually Canada Post) is now charging you $77.45 USD (= $105.63 CAD) to return both units, together, back to you... so the return shipping charges for both units together are $22.95 USD cheaper than you paid to originally have them shipped separately up from the USA.... a bargin. For your money you are getting Xpresspost-USA 4 Business days Guaranteed Service with full Insurance Coverage & Tracking Number which will be gleefully posted online here (for the world to see) as soon as I mail it away. Actual shipping times will, of course, probably be twice what Canada Post states, due to Covid delays, etc., etc. Your USPS one week express shipping took more than twice as long as stated to arrive on both your packages.
To conclude, as soon as I see $105.63 CAD (or $77.45 USD... your choice), deposited in my Paypal acct. I will send it away immediately. If you're on the ball & finally, really serious about ending this mess, you can easily (only takes a few minutes on your computer) have that money deposited today & I can quickly ship the package away tomorrow morning as it is already sitting gathering dust in my local post office with all shipping labels, customs declarations etc. attached ready to go.
As I have already spent a grand total of $376.95 CAD to date on this long, difficult transaction there is NO WAY I am shelling out another $105.63 CAD upfront (then my total spent would be $481.97 CAD!) to ship your return package & then trust that you will honestly pay me back... some day... or maybe never... Also where is a full refund of my original $331.05 CAD pd. to you in good faith, via Paypal, on 06 March 2020?? You may consider yourself a super seller of sorts, but still, you do not have a business licence that entitles you to STEAL from this customer. Either 1.) Send me the additional funds to mail the 2 defective lights back to you 2.) After receiving said defective lights.... YOUR CHOICE... either send me yet another working light (so securely packaged so a truck can run over it without causing damage) or refund my money in full... such a simple solution to end this stupid transaction. How can this transaction be successfully concluded if you absolutely refuse to communicate either privately by email or on this forum? Still left shaking my head on this utterly ridiculous situation.

I wasn't mentioned directly, but it was clearly unmistakable who he was calling a THIEF. Imagine how you personally or any other insectnet.com member would feel being falsely accused, with zero proof, of being a THIEF, on a forum with well over a thousand members as well as the hundreds of others (visitors) who are free to follow the forums without signing in. I have never scammed or cheated any seller out of anything in my life.
I simply wanted to nip this thread in the bud, before widespread speculation began as to who it was. L.K. cast a wide net in calling out "A" Canadian, without naming them, thereby casting doubt & instilling curiosity on the entire collecting community up here. I, honesty, could not contain myself as I absolutely have had it after almost 4 months of unexplainable delays with this man. L.K., in simple terms, treated me like a mushroom... I was kept constantly in the dark & fed a continuous line of Bullcrap. A secret as to who this Canadian was would have spread like wildfire through backdoor methods... in this case I mean the PM messages & private emails. As proof of that...the very 2nd post to this thread immediately after L.K.'s inflammatory accusation, was by a very well known Canadian insect dealer wanting to know who it was. This insect dealer/friend whom I have known personally for more than 20 yrs., & with whom I have carried out 3 very large & successful exchanges with over those yrs. & who has personally visited my farm, along with his wife, would be shocked at who was being accused (wrongfully with no proof). This is just one example... if I wouldn't have come out to respond to these slanderous & extremely hurtful & false accusations, to tell my side of the story, nothing would have prevented L.K. from Private Messaging/privately emailing scores of his friends in the worldwide collecting community & smearing me further behind my back. I honestly believe L.K. is a very spiteful person hiding behind a very thin veil of religion to promote his virtuous self image while anyone else, like myself, a complete stranger, who crosses/questions him, is brushed off as criminal "Dirt". I simply decided to clear up the mystery, because I have absolutely nothing to hide. Everything is spelled out in my previous posts. After 4 months of wrangling I am now the proud owner of TWO faulty & completely useless collecting lights, which L.K. is suddenly too cheap to pay for their return, which would go a long way in helping to resolve this crazy transaction. L.K. still has not supplied a single tracking number of his numerous phantom shipments supposedly made to me between 06 March & 18 May....PLUS he didn't have the parts to build them in the first place, as outlined by his own words in a recent email in that time period... AND he has not offered to refund my money (well over $300.00 CAD which would pay for a month's groceries for me as I live on a fixed income).
The whole situation just stinks to high heaven & is unbelievably frustrating for me … I always thought that if someone sells you faulty items isn't it up to them to pay return shipping & either replace the items or give a full refund?? That is just good business practise. L.K. now says (for the 2nd time!) he has blocked my emails & will no longer respond to me. No working lights, no money refunds... ZERO customer satisfaction to he so loves to preach he is known for.... sickening.

Received this email from L.K. at 7:54 am today "Return all of the defective collecting light units. Once they are returned, I will send you a replacement. I will not argue with you nor will I send another collecting light unit until "all" of the defective collecting light units are returned. I will refund all your shipping cost to return the defective units. Please advise me once you have shipped the defective collecting units to Leptraps LLC".
Four hours later at 11:58am this morning I receive yet another email from L.K., quote, "Just keep it all. Do as you please with it. I am done with you. I consider you to be no more than a common THIEF" Again calling me a THIEF with ZERO proof. Answer the simple questions I asked above Leroy... the truth is you can't because you didn't send me any lights between 6 March & 18 May & after nearly 4 months, 2 faulty lights & the fact that I already have the return parcel packed & waiting in my P.O. to send back.....& now I get this conflicting message. What in the hell am I supposed to do with 2 faulty/defective lights?? What about a refund of the $376.34 CAD spent by me on those 2 defective units to date? This amount is not a small thing to me nor would it be to anyone. If you do not refund this money after 4 long months & after these continuing conflicting emails, only hours apart, who is the THIEF/LIAR now??? The facts posted in my previous posts cannot be refuted by L.K's own email statements...
This is the kind of crazy, conflicting, unpredictable behaviour I have had to deal with L.K. since 6 March '20. This is the 2nd time L.K. has threatened me with bailing out of this transaction leaving me in the lurch, speechless & out $376.34 CAD... unbelievable for such a self proclaimed honest businessman. Well, I too am done with you LEROY... as you cannot answer the 2 simple questions I poised in my last post here... Please immediately refund my $376.34 via the same way I paid you, with Paypal, in good faith, way back on 06 March 2020. Sure is telling that when L.K. was faced with 1st class return shipping charges for the 2 faulty lights he balked & got instantly angry. I pd. L.K. for express shipping back in March & I was planning to ship them back the same way with full insurance... what's the problem L.K.?

So not only are you calling me a THIEF, now you are publicly calling me a LIAR??? This is pure SLANDER for which you do not have a single shred of evidence... & you know it. Just because of your thousands of satisfied customers over the last 30 years this automatically puts you beyond any current criticism/beyond reproach?? Every transaction was absolutely perfect? Seriously? Truthfully? What specifically do your other customers & your dearly departed wife have to do with this(my)specific case? Slandering someone with no proof is an extremely serious thing. As I write this, after 111 days, now 20 emails, 4 phone calls & some texts, $376.34 CAD spent PLUS another $105.63 return shipping costs = a total of $481.97 for 1 collecting light & 2 tubes. I am now in the proud possession of TWO faulty collecting lights (which I am arranging to rapidly send back to you) so you can see for yourself they are faulty. I only have 2 tubes & no WORKING light... after nearly 4 months of endless unexplained delays & runarounds.
I might also remind you Mr. Koehn that you, & you alone, initiated this loathsome PUBLIC thread seeking to ruin my reputation. We could have settled this privately... eventually. Do you honestly expect me to sit back & not defend myself against completely baseless accusations? What kind of double standard game are you playing? No one, & I repeat no one, is beyond question... we are all humans & all of us make mistakes... even you Leroy..
It is also very interesting (& telling) that you did not address a single issue I brought up in my last 2 long posts... other than to say you are beyond criticism... Really?
Following are 2 direct quotes from an email sent to me by L.K. on 7 June 2020: "So that you know. When the Covid19 pandemic occurred, I had a large shipment of components coming from China. My order was held at port until 1 May 2020. I received my order on 14 May 2020. I shipped your order on 18 May 2020 via first class mail via USPS." Further on another quote, "I had virtually no electronic components until my order arrived from China". You shipped my 1st collecting light 18 May 2020... again with no Tracking number. I did however receive it on 6 June & it didn't work. You sent a 2nd replacement on 8 June 2020 (Incredibly with a tracking number... the 1st one EVER!) & I received it yesterday 23 June... & again it doesn't work.... something is loose & rattling around inside the ballast. Just answer for me, once & for all, a simple question. By your own admission you never had all the parts necessary to build these lights until 14 May 2020... How, in the world, did you send me any collecting lights between 06 March, when my order was 1st placed, to 14 May when you finally got the parts?? I never received a single package containing any collecting lights during that 06 March to 18 May period when an actual light was shipped. If you are being completely truthful (remember you just called me a LIAR in addition to being a THIEF) where is the proof that any lights were shipped prior to 18 May 2020? By proof I mean tracking numbers. Leroy I am publicly asking you to provide me with any & all tracking numbers of your alleged "phantom" shipments placed between 06 March & 18 May. This is the ONLY WAY I have as a buyer to verify that any items were actually shipped. If you cannot supply me with any tracking numbers from that time period... then who is the LIAR... claiming multiple lights were shipped (even though you, knew as of 06 March, that you didn't have any parts to build them!)… what a fiasco & long string of lies. Remember L.K. I have every email (20 now) you ever sent me & I will reveal more stuff... if needed... to put an final end to this utterly ridiculous transaction. Again the 2 faulty lights are ready to ship back. Pay me the additional $105.63 by Paypal & they will be on their way very shortly & I am still expecting a working light as you just promised in latest email number 20.
