Do you ever send them to NGC? Actually, I have many US graded coins. Problem is this, coins from auctions in Germany/Austria/Italy/Spain/UK have a much stricter grading process then in US. For example a German graded coin EF (extra fine) would be MS 62-64, while a stempelglanz (uncirculated)would grade MS-66/67. Kinda a lot like difference in butterfly grades from one dealer to the next. Here is an example, this Souvrano d'or from Lombardy-Venetia 1831-A Emperor Franz II of Habsburg was graded FDC by Varesi/Italy. Heritage auctions had a MS-67 in auction, mine was way better quality. I agree, most of the problems we have today started in 1918 with end of WW1. The winners unwisely decided to carve up the Ottoman Empire, and replace it with Colonial interests for the British/French victors. Also, Saudi Arabia a Medieval Kingdom ended up with control of the region with its vast oil revenues. After WW2, most of the colonies gained independence, and we ended up with people like Hussein, Assad, billionaire oil Princes, Kings, a system where a few control everything, the rest live in poverty, a "modern feudal system"

For some years now, these scumbags have massacred, pillaged, raped, maimed thousands of innocent victims. Yet, the U.S., with all their sophisticated technological superiority cannot put an end to their reign of terror. In Nigeria, the army stands by while Boko Haram wipes out entire towns, kidnaps school girls to sell as slaves or worse. In Kenya, AL Shabaab is running rampant in the Northern regions, even bombed mall in Nairobi. ISIS, meanwhile is creating a Caliphate in Syria/Iraq/Jordan. WW2 groundattack aiplanes like the RAF Typoon, USAAF Thunderbolt, Luftwaffe Focke-Wulf-190D, would be the ideal airpower arsenal to wipe out ISIS/Boko Haram/AL SHabbab terrorists targets, of course well trained ground forces are needed too.

Super goal in extra time, Argentina also played a great game. I still remember 2006, when the team from France completely dominated the Italian side, but lost in penatly kicks. Games should be decided by playing as much extra time as it takes too produce a winner, not silly penalty kicks! Wonder what will become of the Brazil team, after humilating losses too Germany, Netherlands....

Germany finally played too their potential vs Brazil, remember they beat number 5 ranked Potugal 4-0. The Netherlands/Argentina semi finalgame, was according too the experts....a snoozefest. Thomas Muller will break all scoring records, he has 10 World Cup goals, he is only 24!

Good one Dunc! That is getting to be a very rare find. Some say its not extinct, others say it went the way of the Dodo bird back in the 1980s. John

Nice specimens, Dunc! I think hahneli now go for 300 a pair. I know here in Canada, we had real silver dollars circulating in 1967. If you take in inflation, today it would take 25 of our 2013 $1 loonies to have the purchasing power of one 1967 $1!!!!! That is what happens when govts print worthless paper currencies too cover their massive out of control spiralling debt crisises. When Europe was on the gold standard, their was NO INFLATION. A gold dukat struck in lets say my home town of Cologne circa 1298AD had the same gold content as a 1914 Austria-Hungary Dukat Franz Josef I. John
