Can anyone give me details of any insect/butterfly dealers in Sulawesi?

Are you looking to buy wholesale or specimens for your collection? I don't know the answer to your question myself, as the only Sulawesi dealer I know of may have a slightly questionable reputation and I'm not sure if he's even still in business as I haven't received any offers from him for several years. Someone who does know the local Sulawesi dealers may be able to give a better answer if they know what you want to buy, quantity and type of insects (eg. rarer or bulk common species).

Ah I see, your intentions were not clear from the original post. Have a good trip! I hope you find lots of interesting insects (I am sure you will).
Adam.

I had once contact in the late 70 to a dealer in Bantimurung. There are waterfalls near and many people there collected butterflies. Be careful as the people are muslims but it is a Matriarchat, the man have no power and you have to deal with the women!
We sat there, dealing with the mother of several children, feeding a baby and discussing prices. Have a good time there !

P.S: I think the family name was Baharuddin . You can have a look when you are there. I cannot remember the city. The dealer I met at that time seems to be not alive anymore.
