These 'windmill' species actually belong to genus Byasa, as you have written on your specimen labels. Genus Atrophaneura should be restricted to the 'batwing' species of the varuna, nox, semperi, priapus groups.
There has been a lot of confusion over the use of Atrophaneura, with some people even including Pachliopta and Losaria species in that genus.

Adam: Actually, I had byasa on my labels. I must have had that "atrophaneura" still on my mind from posting the sycorax, hageni post... Is there such a thing as byasa oberthuri? I send it on some dealers lists? John

John,
I did say "Byasa, as you have written on your specimen labels".
There is no Byasa oberthuri, but there is a Byasa ouvrardi named by Oberthur, which is a ssp of dasarada from the Burma-Yunnan border area.
Adam.

It's a female, where's it from?

Thank you Adam. It's from Nainital, India.

Ah, thought it might be that ssp because of the white spots at the tip of the anal area (where there would be a scent fold in the male). Probably these spots are connected to the discal patches by a small row of spots on the underside too. Some specimens have a full set of discal spots on the upperside also, they are quite variable. This is ssp ravana, which may even be a separate species from dasarada. Here's a photo of the underside of a female in my collection, also from Nainital. Adam. Attachments:

Here is the underside. Less white dots as yours, but may be the same sp/ssp, if this is quite variable. This specimen is very old... Attachments:

Yes, it is the same ssp of course (from the same place), and indeed there is considerable variation between specimens. Your female does have the discal spots I mentioned, but they are smaller than those in the specimen I illustrated.
Adam.
