I will be in southern Indiana first week of June. Is there anything to be found there that cannot be found in NE Indiana? Beetles, Butterflies, Moths?

Where at in Southern Indiana?
I have spent a great deal of time in Perry & Harrison counties and there are some very nice species. Amblyscirtes belli and Calephalis mutica just to mention two. And the moths, excellent. Bring some traps, both light and bait and you will have lots to spread when you go home.

Indeed - where are you going? There are lots of bugs in the unglaciated region that you won't see in the north. Especially in the forests.
but be prepared for ticks and chiggers!

McCormick's Creek State Park? That the black outline on the attached map. It is mostly karst forest - very rich and probably great moths. Unfortunately, you can't collect there without a permit. But there is abundant forest in the surrounding landscape if that is where you are headed. The complex blob to the South is a TNC preserve (Green's Bluff) - green is what we own - shaded red and tan is what I think we should try to conserve. The webpage is a bit outdated but is at www.nature.org/ourinitiatives/regions/northamerica/unitedstates/indiana/placesweprotect/greens-bluff.xml. I was just there a couple of weeks ago - and there were two bugs that you don't see much in northern Indiana flying about - zebra and pipevine swallowtails. There are lots of gravel roads through the forest that would be great collecting. John Attachments:

Its actually a relatives property. It is hard to tell but I think it may be on that map you attached. Thank you for the information anyways. I would like to get Zebra Swallowtails, although I do get Pipevine swallowtails pretty often here.
