What is the best way to collect Hypolimnas? Looking for larvae or adults? I am told bait traps are a good way to catch them. Any suggestions for bait and where to set the traps?

I've not baited them. I can suggest that what works for me is to try to catch something else, and when the Hypolimnas chases it away then you catch and jar the Hypolimnas as a consolation prize.

I'm in central Africa and although I had a male Hypolimnas misippus in my bait trap yesterday, it's the first one I've caught that way (for context, I've been running that particular trap day and night since mid November, and H. misippus is a very common species here... I also have H. anthedon flying around the yard). So, if bait traps work for them, I don't think bananas are the right bait.

Same in Thailand . I am on Ko Tao small island in Gulf of Thailand for one month already doing a check list of local butterflies. Hypolimnas bolina jacintha is very common around the island and I have always few flying in my garden but never got one in the banana bait trap.
