A few days ago, I came across a paper in the European Journal of Taxonomy, in which the second largest insect ever is described. Of course, we must be talking about a stick insect. Measuring some 52 cm in length, this sure is a huge insect. Personally, I think it's interesting that such a huge species have been wandering around undescribed for so long. The new subspecies has been named Phryganistria heusii yentuensis. As well as this new subspecies, some other two new species is described in the paper. If you want to read more about this new species, click here.
