Here I used a combination of dried florals and artificial forals. Everything was assembled using a hot glue gun. Attachments:

Nicely done Clark. I have made a few of these myself over the years but I used dried leaves and twigs which were VERY thoroughly dried and fumigated. The extortionate cost of the domes and bases here prevent me from making more, I would not be able to charge enough to cover the costs. as no-one would buy them at those prices. I have also created a couple of museum dioramas too, but they have long been dismantled now. Dave

Clark,
Very nice! How long ago did you make this? Just wondered how long the butterflies had been exposed to light and retained their colour like they have?

I made this 15 years ago and sold it. As you know, iridescent colors don't fade. The pigmented colors do fade over time.

In order to make money at this you need to buy your materials in bulk, wholesale.

Sadly Clark, I can't afford to do that. Do you use glass or acrylic domes by the way?

Glass only for the domes. Acrylic domes have terrible optics. But I use acrylics for the retangular showcases.
