If there are any members in Japan, I would like help in trying to locate an entomologist called Tadahiro Takakura. He worked for NHK and would probably be in his mid 80's now if he is still alive.
He published a book on Lepidoptera and may be known to someone.
He came and stayed with our family in the mid 1960's. I'd really like to contact him again if possible.
Thanks

Dear Mokky - if I send you an old email of a buddy who was teaching in Kyoto - do you think he can be found? Tom was a great guy but work split us and so gone we were. I also would like to contact Bin and there are some others I used to deal with but some died - and that was not so good. I miss Suguru - we had many good times together. Is his wife still in Yokohama? Many thanks - Greg

Hi Mokky, Sorry to pester but here is a request from Australia. When I was a kid living in Tapini PNG in the early 70`s a Butterfly insect collector from Japan came through our town Hirouaki Kawaguchi , not quite sure on the first name spelling . In the afternoons he went out on the lawn and practised martial arts on the front lawn of my fathers hotel , the neighbours dog got upset and ran around this guy , with all the commotion the native village children gathered around screaming and falling over laughing , they thought this guy was trying to fight the dog .It really was very funny once you saw the crowd that was drawn in. I wonder is this guy still around and collecting ? Greetings from Australia, Jack

Dear Jack, Greetings from Japan. I try to find the guy but till now I cannot get any information on Mr. Hirouaki (should be Hiroaki) Kawaguchi. In the early 70's Japan was not so "rich" country and the collectors who were able to visit all the way to PNG must have been quite few. I know some of those lucky guys but never heard his name. I will continue to look for him. If there is any progress, I will let you know immediately. Cheers, Mokky Hi Mokky, Sorry to pester but here is a request from Australia.
