Ah good, then I was wrong with all of them. In either case I think that it should be able to visit Socrota, there is some ecotourism offered there. Going to Yemen I would not advise unless you fit in and look like locals ^^.

Going to Yemen I would not advise unless you fit in and look like locals ^^. what I heared is not so good .. many problems there and most of the material has to be exported illegally (it seems that permits are difficult to obtain and very restricted).

You can find some papers about recent Oman collecting expeditions in the ALF journal Seems to be very interesting

Indeed, two years ago, one of the members of the ALF stayed in Oman where he collected in at least two regions, along the southern side (dry habitats) and the eastern mountains (wetter valleys). This trip was presented at a conference with photos and presentation of collected butterflies. Quite interesting. The country was quoted as a safe country where it's possible to collect without trouble. Who would like to join an entomological trip to northern Nigeria ? They say that there's nice forests to collect ...
