Any fool can publish an article on the internet and this is a particularly good example of that.

What struck me was the general inability to correctly state a basic number. Just what does "US$23,4000.00" mean, twenty three thousand four hundred dollars or two hundred and thirty four thousand dollars? Similarly the alexandrae specimen was quoted as sold for US$12,4000.00. However both these figures were correctly printed inside the text - sloppy journalism just for starters. Seems no more than sensationalism to me, and, as well as not really representing the insect trade, it also doesn't actually reflect the normal price for these insects, as Quintin pointed out.
Adam.
