"Not surpisingly, the mass murder of Lepidoptera (of the Owl and Heliconius species) has ruffled the feathers of animal lovers near and far, including members of the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)"
This honestly makes me laugh! you have to be joking.. even the (RSPCA) Haha come on people they are bugs, not cats and dogs...i bet nobody would say this was cruelty if the artwork was actual spiders and scorpions..they would be all for it! lol

"Not surpisingly, the mass murder of Lepidoptera (of the Owl and Heliconius species) has ruffled the feathers of animal lovers near and far, including members of the UK's Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)" -Again HYPOCRICY from idiots who eat a lot of MEAT to produce tons of S*HIT (or is it not CRUEL to kill animals for the meat they eat, but ONLY cruel and unethical to kill SHOWY BUTTERFLIES, and VERY OK to kill beetles ''and related cockroaches'' (for entomologist it's necessary to kill insects as known for scientific studies, as is to kill insects-pests of crops, but is not necessary for human's survival to kill animals, and also I want to see what these people will say when in the future very possibly human's nutrition will be based primarily on insects -oh, but yes, they don't 'care' for any insect other than showy butterflies!) ) The people who wrote this article are also totally unknowledgeable on insects' biology. Also, all these species used by this man are very common, and the specimens bred. ts, ts, ts........ 'I would be pleased to see the police officers asking Damien Hirst to produce his CITES authorizations !' -This, after the denunciation of an idiot against him, of course.. . (I didn't see any Cites species btw). btw, the photographer who denounced me belongs to the above category of people that I described (his ' Orcinus orca silhouette' tells it all alone -with this comment I don't mean anything negative for all fat people of course, but for bad fatties full of complexes and jealousness like him..). Personally, I'd never detach the wings of butterflies and make artworks, as I strictly like the pinned specimens and the scientific collections in drawers. But, I don't consider of course the butterfly art as cruel or unethical, as it also uses very common species and bred specimens. And of course are not cruel and unethical (but very useful instead !) entomologists who collect (not over-collect as pure dealers do !) even vulnerable species for their research, but also for their admiration/love/desirement for them. When I have a butterfly that is either A2 or damaged in transit or dermestids then I use the wings for other things. The posts on the Huffington Post are gutteral and not statements based from knowledge.
