Tim,
Africaone is correct on the Bellamira, and it's a female. The first specimen is also a female and is Pachyta lamed liturata Kirby in Richardson. Pachyta lamed lamed (Linnaeus) occurs in the Old World from northern Europe east to Siberia. Both subspecies are boreal, occuring in more northern areas. Bellamira is more widespread in Canada and the eastern U.S. I've taken Bellamira as far south as southern Mississippi.

Thank you guys very much!
I came across the Pachyta lamed by chance, as I just happen to see her flying and the land on a big pine tree trunk.
The Bellamira scalaris was chowing down in one of my fruit baits.
