Haha..,yes, this has to be 'Polyphemus' cyclops from the Greek mythology . I noticed this listing, too.. Just the one side of the head has been put inside the pronotum..This is of course not a teratologic specimen.. Thanos

And I understand that unless you buy a specimen you can't do anything (comment, report or give a seller a negative rating) on ebay to address such things.

You can report it... theoretically if eBay is inundated with reports they should pull an item. However, no one there has any clue what this is or isn't and this item isn't obviously illegal or fraudulent to a layperson. Even when I come across something like a real tiger skin rug it doesn't get pulled!

Ebay really has no incentive to pull listings since they get a percentage of the sale. I used to report items that I knew were in violation of their policies, but it usually fell on deaf ears as you pointed out. If the buyer of this beetle gets it & decides it was "Not as Described", Ebay will force the seller to refund the purchase price plus original shipping. Ebay will keep the listing & final value fee. My wife & I have been selling on Ebay for 9 1/2 years & it has just gone from bad to worse the last few years. We sell a few of the extra insects I collect & most of the time we make about 25-50 cents per specimen which doesn't even begin to cover gasoline expenses, let alone time spent taking pictures & writing descriptions.
