3 ................. p;ol The above text is a message from my newest kitten. I guess she tried to say "Hi!" when I stepped away from the keyboard.... It took me a while to figure out what this little guy was. It's body is only 2cm long. I thought it was a tiny mantis, but I couldn't find one that small or with wings like a lacewing, so I looked for a lacewing with a body like a mantis and discovered the Zeugomantispa minuta, the green mantisfly. I caught it back on the 4th and have been feeding it tiny moths. That is what it is snacking on in the photo. It has been raining every night here for the past few days so my collecting time has been quite limited. When it isn't raining, the moon is so bright that my lightsheet is nearly deserted. I am getting so bored that I no longer know what to do with myself. (I guess you can tell that by the fact that I am posting this little guy lol) Attachments:

No need to apologize. I enjoy your pictures. I first caught a mantisfly back in the early 70's & was bewildered as well. Cool critters. I had it in my freshman college insect collection & it was missing when I got it back after grading. Guess they needed one!
