Hi everyone,
Just thought i'd put the question out to anyone who's collected (any order) in Australia. Where have you had success?
I have personally collected mainly lepidoptera and coleoptera and only around Sydney - my favourite spots are the Blue Mountains, Around the township of St Albans (about 20km north of Wiseman's ferry) and the foot of Macquarie Pass west of Albion Park. Would love to make my way all the way up the east coast in the future.
Looking forward to any replies!

Have you been out to Putty Rd north of Windsor? and keep on driving on Putty Rd till you get to Damen. Have you been out there?
There're so many different places you can go up and down the east coast.................

I haven't collected on Putty Rd, but been up there as far as Colo Heights. How far up is Damen? Couldn't spot it on the map... Any recommendations further up the coast? Thanks!

There're two ways driving up north from Sydney, the coastal Pacific hwy or inland New England hwy.
Which way do you prefer? Do you do any collecting on flowers or light traping?

Head for Nth Queensland in Jan/Feb , you`ll do well anywhere. Be prepared for the occasional Cyclone and lots of rain , but when the sun shines its hot , not just the sun.
