Evening All,
Not sure this is the correct place but I'm hoping someone can answer my query...
After reading peoples various thoughts on here re. Facebook I took the plunge and registered (hello to everyone on here who is also a Facebook friend btw!). I don't use it a lot but do enjoy browsing people's albums...anyway, I was doing this the other day and by clicking on a friend's friend came across a guy in Russia who had an album of his cabinets with lots of wonderful Parnassius and Colias which he also stated were for sale or trade.
During my drooling my PC crashed...and I can't remember the person's name.
My question is whether it is possible to somehow search on the content of albums? If I search on "Parnassius" or "Colias" it brings up species pages or pages of people with "Parnassius/Colias" in their username. Can I just search all the albums on Facebook?
Hope one of the regular Facebook users on here can give me a pointer!
Thanks,
Simon

hello si there's no "recent search" history on FB. Unless you can remember his name you cannot find him. When you do find someone that you want to talk to, add him or her as a friend, even if they do not reply, the persons name will always be stored in your friends request at the top of the page on the left next to the facebook logo. If type in the search bar, exchange and trade insects, theres always nice material for sale or exchange. also ebay insect classifieds is good also. Whats your profile name si, i'll add you. cheers pete btw, if you type an insects name on facebook, you will more likely get wikipedia or something like that pop up

Since you were looking at friends of your friends, start there again. Something will jog your memory.

Hi All, Thanks for your thoughts/views/input. Pete - I usually do send a "friend request" whenever I see an album or something else that takes my interest. It was just that this time my PC literally turned itself off mid-use and I didn't get a chance to. Lord P/Anthony - well I'm not exactly a facebook "fiend" either. My favourite section on here is the "show your favourite..." and the album function on facebook, allowing people to upload their pictures, has opened up a whole new world of drooling over pcitures of butterflies! Apart from that it's all still a bit "so-so" IMHO and I certainly wouldn't be on there 24/7 posting messages. Then again...Twitter must be even worse! What are you doing/thinking/eating in thirty words or something!?! I think if I were ever to register on Twitter my one and only message would be "I AM TURNING MY COMPUTER OFF". ;D Papilio - I tried that and thought I'd see something that jogged my memory...but nothing. It's too easy to click on a friend...and one of their friends...and one of their friends...etc etc for eternity! Anyway, thanks to Dave...I've found him again! Thanks Dave - it is indeed Alexei Belik! I've sent a friend request and await his reply!!! Cheers mate, Simon
