I'm wondering how someone could think that the upper specimen on the above photo is a male. Anyway. Beautiful specimens -the female is hard to get and one of the most beautiful Charaxes in my opinion !

lol, are you joking ,Olivier ? This doesn't require any kind of special knowledge...this is SO obvious ! -And so,I couldn't understand how an experienced collector could be confused with something so obvious. I think now you got me. You have not to be a Charaxes (neither I am one !)specialist to distinguish the sexes of the species !! Thanos

My comment was ironic, I felt a bit shocked by your disdainful comment... People can ask questions here without getting as an answer "I'm wondering how someone can ask that", "Anyway", " it's SO obvious".

i will not give my hand that first specimen is not a female ! the picture is not sufficient to be sure 100 % but it can be be a dark female ! Dunc, you can examine the forelegs or the tip of the abdomen to be sure.

@thanos...my apologies for upsetting you O Mighty Smartypants, but I was full of wine at the time... You remember wine? It's something you bankrupt Greeks can no longer afford...
