We broke 1,000 today. A far cry from the 3,000+ members we had in the old Forum, but hey, it's something.
Thank you for your participation!

Congratulations Clark!
Just out of interest I did some checking and there are 12 users (including you) who have posted 250 times or more, 19 more for 100 times, 11 more for 50 times, 78 more for 10 times and a further 287 who have posted less than 10 times. This means that 594 of the 1001 users have never posted to the forum at all.
Come on the rest of you - the more the merrier!
Bob

Well, 1,000 registered users is a landmark, congratulations!
It should be remembered that the 3,000+ members of the old forum enrolled over 10 years. Some of them were doubtless duplicates (forgotten username/password etc) and some are sadly no longer with us or doing other things with their lives.
Hopefully the membership will continue to grow at a similar rate for some time to come, and more of the members will actually post rather than just lurk - we'd all love to hear from you, so don't be afraid to post something in the forum.
Adam.

Great news !
And I think facebook will bring a lot of new members here, as discussions about insect are HUGE now on fbk.

For me it is the same as for Hectorides, I cannot explain things very good in english. I am also a silent reader. So I hope you understand what I want to say. Not the total number of members makes a great Forum, the number of the active members make it. Dietmar

I wonder if it was me that pushed you over the 1,000 mark? ;D Sept 3 is the day I got my membership approved email. I guess this would be my introduction post since it is my first time posting here. I have just been browsing the forum, trying to get a feel for the community before chiming in. At this time I know very little about insect collecting since I am just really getting started. (I have already ruined several nice specimens fumbling about trying to learn how to pin properly.) I signed up here with hopes of gleaning some knowledge from yall.

There is a wealth of knowledge here. Try searchig the pre 2011 Forum archives and you will see. Not to mention our videos section.
