Just taken these off the boards and i've noticed 2 males (top 2 on right row) are different from the others, i'm no expert on nymphalidae at all, are these a different species, or a sub.species or colour form. I know these are very variable, all are from R.C.A (Yakoli area).. Rich Attachments:

These are different species I believe
The ones on the right top seem like C. hyarbita

hyabitha is the pair on the left of the first picture
the two "forms" (two right columns) are probably distinct species (the light one being something like lurida / hesiodotus, the dark being hypatha)

Cheers guy's, yes bottom left pair came from ebay as Hyarbita, the others from Insect-sale as Hypatha, i've looked at the photo's on his website and i thought they (2 different males) looked like Hesiodotus myself. I have Lurida still on the boards, loads still to set.
Cheer's, Rich

Michel, isn't colmanti a bigger sp ?
ps : I barcoded "for the fun", a series of specimens of this group from RDc and RCA and the results is not so obvious !

I don't have any reference books on this family and can't find any photo on-line of Colmanti, when i get a chance i'll post a pic of the undersides if this will help.
Is there any good websites for cymothoe ??

Michel why don't you come back ? we need a Cymothoe specialist the genus is in great confusion and none seemed to be interested to clarify it

Thierry, I just don't have the time, but I am not far and I will be ready to help as soon as someone will have the time to run the project ...
I do not know any website for Cymothoe, just a bit here and there ...

I've had a look at the Metafro.be website and think they are indeed Cymothoe Colmanti maybe even a couple of females also.
Many thanks for the info.
Rich..
